Well, Nicky would have come in 4th if he hadn’t crashed near the end of the race.  What a miserable race it was too.  Or at least the conditions sucked.  The race was actually quite eventful… partially surprising, partly predictable.

Casey Stoner came in 3rd, like the champion he’s shaping up to be.  Chris Vermulen (formerly of World SuperBike) took Suzuki’s first victory since 2000!  I always thought that would have been John Hopkins, but it wasn’t to be this time.  Although John did a very good job and led the race at one point.  But then so did the only rookie this season… Sylvain Guitoli (FR).  That was impressive to be sure.  Shows what rain and a home crowd can do.  The only other French rider, Randy DePuniet tried TOO hard and crashed out.

Anyway, on to Italy!  It’s going to be tough to beat Rossi!

Anybody see this seasons’s 2nd race in Jerez? Haden’s finally making a come back! Boy, Pedrosa is going to be a tough one to be this year too. Rossi seems back in form, but lookout for the best bunch of rookies EVER! Rock on MOTOGP!
